Youth Eco Summit
Times NIE along with Bajaj Foundation gave students the platform to voice their concerns and find effective solutions related to the E-waste crisis on 18 January 2024 at Siri Fort Auditorium.
The orientation program started with the interactive segment followed by a welcome address by the founder - Mr Pankaj Bajaj. The most enlightening part was the panel discussion on the topic- “The journey of electronic devices - from manufacturing to disposal.” The panel included the following distinguished guests-

● Dr. Suneel Pandey, Director, TERI
● Dr. Harveen Kaur- Government Advisory | Former Fellow Smart Cities Mission, MoHUA'21 | Fellow UNITAR'22 | PhD in E-waste
● Nitin Pramod, Indian Forest Services.
They gave an insight to the students about the harmful effects of unsafe and unscientific dismantling of the e-waste. This exposure acted as a catalyst to ensure future sustainable development. The entire event facilitated development of soft skills among the learners, like teamwork, problem solving, active listening, conflict resolution,critical thinking, empathy, management etc. They discussed various strategies involving handling of electronic waste to minimize environmental impact. Understanding of the students was examined with a pop quiz on the topic. Students of various schools displayed their exhibits under the "waste to art” project.
The IInd panel discussion also addressed the growing challenges associated with electronic waste and sensitised the young brigade towards dire need for responsible e-waste management. It included panelists such as -
