One Child, One Plant Initiative taken by the students of Class X 17 September 2023 An event focusing on sensitizing the students towards the importance of plants and trees in our life is the immediate need of hour. Class X Students made beautiful and creative plant pots using recycled plastic bottles since plastic has become a menace for our environment. They also involved the use of mud, a small sapling and other eco-friendly materials for making pot. “At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom…” These were the words by the first Prime Minister of Independent India Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru on the eve of independence in 1947. Undoubtedly on this day we pay tribute to our freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the sake of our motherland. DLDAV Model School, Pitampura kept this spirit high by paying tribute to the Nation and our founding fathers commemorating the 76th Independence Day. Principal ma'am, the faculty members and the students welcomed the Guest of Honour Mr Amit Nagpal, a distinguished MCD Councillor who inspired the students with his noble ideas on India's struggle for Independence imbibing a sense of Nationalism and Patriotism amongst the students. BADGE MAKING ACTIVITY THEME - INDEPENDENCE DAY The Senior Wing of the school (X -XII) enthusiastically participated in the badge-making activity using Eco-Friendly Material depicting the true colors of Freedom using the Tri Colors. Principal ma'am appreciated the creativity and aesthetic sense of the students while selecting the best entries. Students celebrated the day with full fervor by wearing hand made badges during the special Assembly.
